An incoming alert for a ballistic missile left Hawaiians in a state of panic this weekend before it was declared a false alarm. One Australian man, however, is still feeling the heat.
The man has been accused by his wife of launching his eleven year old son half way down a popular beach in an effort to get to safety and not returning until 38 minutes later when a text was sent out explaining the alert was a mistake.
“I told him to get down and i gently pushed him to lower ground, I thought he’d be safest down there”
The man told the Derby Times.
Witnesses, however, say the man gave some sort of a war cry and blindsided the young boy about four metres down the beach before disappearing to safety.
Early reports say the man is will be in the dog house for at least the next fifteen years.
